Items of Interest from the Goldenwood West POA Office
September 1, 2010
Pool Reminder
The POA office sends a reminder that the pool rules prohibit animals inside the fenced area around the pool. The POA’s pool company reports that allowing a dog into the pool not only clogs the filter with dog hair, but is also the equivalent of having twenty extra people in the pool as far as bacteria and chlorine use. This can cloud the pool and require extra service visits and potential pool closings. Please help keep our pool clean and also please share this information with other property owners who may not know.
Dumping in the Recreation Area
A few weeks ago, several furniture items were dumped next to the phone building by the pool parking lot. The incident has been reported to Hays County Environmental Crimes. New homes have been found for several of the items through Craig’s List, but a mattress and box springs remain which will eventually be hauled away. Please do not hesitate to call the sheriff at 911 if you see any suspicious activity in the area.
Gate Code Change
The gate code to the pool and tennis court will change this month on September 5th. Please keep this number confidential to ensure the facility is being used only by GWW property owners and their guests. The new code is printed in this month’s statements of property owners in good standing (accounts no more than 30 days past due). If you would like the code emailed to you each month, sign up for e-statements: Administrator@GoldenwoodWestPOA.org.
Yard of the Month
The APC proudly recognizes property owners Fred Niemann and Sheryll Ryan of 17000 Whitetail Run for September’s Yard of the Month. Congratulations to our neighbors, the committee thanks these property owners for maintaining a well-kept and tasteful yard.
e-statements
Sixty-three Goldenwood West property owners are receiving e-statements this month which is saving the POA money on paper, ink and postage. The POA office and Board of Trustees thanks all who are participating in the e-statement program. To sign up for e-statements, please contact Administrator@GoldenwoodWestPOA.org.

GWW Book Group leader Karen Hayward sends this message: Do you enjoy reading and discussing good books? If so, join our Goldenwood West Neighborhood Book Group. This year’s group and program are just getting started. Participants each select a book for the group to read and are willing to host a meeting. Meetings are generally informal and are held monthly in the evening. If you are interested in joining the group, or want more information, contact Karen Hayward at khayward@austin.rr.com.
