Pool Closed - Swim Season on Hold – BOT Meeting Date Changed to 5/5
After last month’s enthusiasm about the beginning of swim season, the Board of Trustees now sadly announces that the pool is currently closed. Some major issues with the pool plumbing system have arisen and the Board anticipates that these issues will require removing concrete around the pool in order to access the pipes underneath. After much discussion, the Board is considering taking the opportunity of unearthing the pipes to reconfigure and enlarge the plumbing system to increase the flow to our pump and filter and add circulation to the pool and kiddie pool. These repairs and upgrades will be expensive and will require cutbacks in this year's budget including the playground equipment and may also require the Board to secure a loan. The Board is reviewing recommendations and bids for the project and has agreed to move its May BOT meeting to Wednesday, 5/5 at 7:15 PM at the pavilion in order to proceed with the repairs and open the pool as soon as possible. If the Board feels it should change this date in order to include any other bids or recommendations, the new date will be posted at the mail station and sent out through email to the neighborhood email network, (you may register for neighborhood email alerts at gww@zpgraphic.com). As decisions are made, a timeframe for the reopening of the pool will be shared with the neighborhood.

Pavilion Maintenance Help
The Board thanks those who submitted bids to help manage the cleanliness of the pavilion area during the swim season. The bids will be reviewed by the Board at the upcoming BOT meeting.

No Gate Code Change in May
Due to the current pool repairs, the gate code to the pool and tennis court will not change this month. In order to keep our pool and tennis court secure for our property owners, the Board will begin changing the gate combination to the pool and tennis court on a monthly basis in June. The code will change on the 5th of each month, the new code will be printed on the statements of all property owners in good standing (accounts no more than 30 days past due). The current code is printed in this month’s statements. If you would like the pool code emailed to you each month, sign up for e-statements: Administrator@GoldenwoodWestPOA.org.

Newsletter Stories?
Our Goldenwood West Newsletter Editor, Rabbi Raine Teller, is planning to release the spring edition of the newsletter shortly. If you have any neighborhood news or stories to submit for future issues, please contact Rabbi Raine at rabrevraine@yahoo.com. The “Items of Interest” is published by the POA office to disseminate POA information from the BOT, APC and POA office to all property owners. The Goldenwood West Newsletter is a separate publication that shares photos and stories from residents along with area activities and happenings.

Pool Furniture
Some of our pool furniture was recently found outside of the pavilion gate on the pavilion lawn. The POA office reminds property owners to please keep our furniture inside the fence in order to reduce the chances of theft.

Loose Dogs
The POA office has received complaints about loose dogs knocking over trash cans and scattering trash and initiating fights with other dogs, and most recently, a property owner suffered a dog bite in Goldenwood. In order to keep our neighborhood safe, the POA office recommends that property owners contact Hays County Animal Control at 512-393-7896 if a loose dog in encountered. Please help keep our neighborhood safe.

e-statements
55 Goldenwood West property owners are receiving e-statements this month
which is saving the POA money on paper, ink and postage. The POA office and Board of Trustees thanks all who are participating in the e-statement program. To sign up for e-statements, please contact Administrator@GoldenwoodWestPOA.org.

Bulletin Board
If you are interested in posting a flyer on the bulletin board at the mail station, please drop it in the white POA box. Flyers will be rotated as new material is submitted and business cards will be placed at the bottom of the bulletin board to be removed at year-end. Content will be at the discretion of the Administrator.
