Board of Trustees Officer Appointments

The 2009 Goldenwood West Board of Trustees met on January 12, 2009 and made the following officer appointments for this year: Penny Jungerman will serve as President, Brian Laws as Vice President, Steve Johnson as Secretary, Audrey Pudder as Treasurer and Aleasha Brandon as Member at Large. The Board will meet again on Tuesday, April 13, 2009 at 7 PM at the pavilion. Property owners are invited to attend and are welcome to present any ideas or concerns to the Board during the “Open Forum” portion of the meeting. Also, remember that a copy of the minutes of any BOT meeting is available by email upon request from the Administrator and special arrangements for a hard copy may be requested by writing to the Administrator.

2009 Budget and Improvements
The Association’s 2009 budget was mailed to all property owners last month with the statements. In the next couple of months, you will see your dues at work as the budgeted improvements for this year get underway. In the next couple of weeks, Agave Nursery and Landscape will begin repairs to the irrigation system in our entry sign bed and will also add irrigation to the planting beds at the pavilion (thanks to all the volunteers who kept those beds watered last year). Also, in the coming weeks, K-Courts will start repairs to the tennis court. They will sand and patch the old surface before adding the new Laykold tennis court surface. The process will take about a week and an email will be sent through the neighborhood email network and a notice will be posted at the mail station notifying property owners when the resurfacing will begin. Also, our iron gates on the pool fence will see some repairs this month in order to secure the locks and utilize the spring hinges. And finally, in the next couple of months, you will see new pool furniture to usher in the swim season. The Board is proud to announce these improvements and will continue working to maintain our common area.

Yard of the Month
The Architectural & Protective Committee recognized the following property owners in December for their wonderful holiday light displays: the McGuires of 8207 Lone Deer Run, the Danishes of 8304 Scenic Oaks Drive, the James of 8001 Coyote Ridge and the Mendozas of 17108 Whitetail Run. In January of this year, the committee also recognized the yard of Analea Rawson of 8105 Forest View for Yard of the Month. Congratulations to these neighbors. The APC recognizes how much their hard work adds to our neighborhood. The APC will recognize more well kept properties in our neighborhood once the spring months are here. The committee also emphasizes that even though there are some beautifully landscaped yards in our neighborhood, the criteria it uses to select properties for the Yard of the Month recognition are simply a yard that is well maintained and cared for which adds value to our neighborhood.

Potluck on the Way
Our newly formed Potluck Committee is busy planning for our first potluck of 2009, probably in April. More details will be coming soon. If you are interested in helping, please contact the Administrator.

Recreation Area Reservations
Property owners may reserve the pavilion or picnic area for a four hour time frame with a $60 deposit. Details and rules are listed on the reservation form which may be found at the mail station or on the website. If you are interested in making a reservation, return the completed form to the Administrator with your deposit via the mail station POA box or regular mail.
