POA Board of Trustees

The BOT thanks Aleasha Brandon for her three years of service on the Board as she steps down for the remainder of her term. If you are interested in serving the rest of Aleasha’s term through November of this year, please contact the Administrator or attend the next BOT meeting on May 21, 2012 at 7:00 PM at the Pavilion.

Water Board

The Water Board’s Annual Meeting and Board of Directors election is scheduled for April 30, 2012 at 7:00 PM at the Pavilion.

You can turn in your ballot by mailing it to PGMS at: Goldenwood West Water Supply Corp., c/o PGMS, 26550 RR 12, Ste 1, Dripping Springs, TX 78620 or by delivering it to the above address. You can also attend the meeting and vote in person. Please do not drop Water Board ballots in the POA box.
In addition to the open seat listed on the Water Board ballot, there are other vacancies on the Water Board. If you are interested in serving, the Water Board invites you to attend the Annual Meeting. For questions or replacement ballots, please contact PGMS at 894-3322 during business hours M-F 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM or e-mail kbrogden@pgms.net.

Construction Update

County Commissioner Ray Whisenant has reported to the POA Board that the Crystal Hills bridge project is still scheduled for April. As of this printing, the Board is waiting on an official response from Commissioner Whisenant’s office regarding the delays in the road paving project. Updates will be sent through the e-mail network.
If you do not receive neighborhood news e-mails and would like to, please contact the Administrator at Administrator@GoldenwoodWestPOA.org.

The Pool is Open – Guidelines for Use

Walking at Night
With the warm weather and longer days here, many property owners are enjoying walking in the neighborhood in the evenings and at night. Please remember to wear reflective clothing or bring a flashlight so you can be visible to motorists.
The pool is open and ready for swimmers! A few improvements have been made to the pool area including repairs to the pool deck to fill in the broken cracks and smooth the uneven areas. In addition, the pool now has an auto-chem system to balance the chemicals in the pool, so swimmers should feel a difference with less chlorine on the eyes. Now that warm weather is here, the pool is ready for the season.
Over the years, the POA has developed guidelines for the pool area to ensure its enjoyment by all property owners. Below is a brief overview of the guidelines. If you have any questions, please contact the Administrator.

Best Pool Practices
The Best Pool Practices have been instituted to protect the pool filter by limiting the number of pollutants that enter the pool. Following the practices below will help keep the filter clean and the pool open during the busy summer weekends.

Apply sunscreen 15 minutes before swimming
Shower before swimming
Wear proper swimming attire
Dress small children in swim diapers
Take children on frequent restroom breaks
Change diapers in restroom
Wash hands after using the toilet or changing diapers

Pool Rules

The pool rules listed below are in place to ensure the safety of the pool and pavilion area.

No animals inside the fence area
No glass inside the fence area
Guests must be accompanied by a Goldenwood West property owner
Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by a guardian 18 years or older
Pool hours are 6 AM to 10 PM

Gate Code Changes
The gate code to the pool and tennis court will change monthly throughout the summer to keep the pool and tennis court secure for property owners. The code will change on the sixth day of each month and the new code will be printed in the statements of all property owners in good standing (accounts no more than 30 days past due). This month, the code will change on April 6th. When sharing the new code with teenagers, please remember that this exchange is an opportunity to review the pool rules and Best Pool Practices to help everyone use good behavior when visiting the neighborhood facilities. If you would like to receive the new pool code through e-mail each month, you can sign up for e-Statements by contacting the Administrator.

Reservations
Property owners can reserve the pavilion or picnic area, or both for personal parties. Reservation forms are available from the Administrator, or at the mail station and on the neighborhood website under “Resources for Residents”. Rules regarding recreation area reservations are as follows:

Reservations must be made at least seven days in advance
Reservations will be limited to two parties per weekend
Reservations are for a maximum of 4 hours – the recreation area closes at 10 PM
Reservations are for priority usage, other property owners may also use the area
Children and adolescents attending the party must be accompanied and supervised by an appropriate number of adults
A $50.00 deposit is required and will be refunded if the area is cleaned-up after the party (a clean-up checklist is on the form)
Neighbors living near the pool enjoy the quietness of our neighborhood, please remember them and keep the noise level to a minimum

The Board looks forward to another safe and fun swim season!
