Swim Season
It’s swim season again! The Board of Trustees looks forward to another fun and safe swim season at the Goldenwood West Pool and Pavilion. In the next month, two new chaise lounges and a table will be added to the pool area and a changing station will be added to the restroom. Property owners are encouraged to enjoy the pool area and are also asked to help in its maintenance. Last year, we replaced the old pool pump and filter and optimized the plumbing system to increase the water flow. In the busy summer months, we also increased our pool company’s maintenance visits to three times a week in order to maintain the chlorine levels and to keep the filter clean. To ensure the health of our filter and our property owners, the Board has developed “Best Pool Practices” guidelines. Please see the enclosed flyer with recommendations for pool use.

Wanted – Pavilion Maintenance Help
During the summer months, the Board is looking for a company or property owner to serve as an independent contractor to help manage the cleanliness of the pavilion area. Any interested parties should submit a bid to the Administrator (drop in POA box) by April 30, 2010 for weekly pavilion maintenance to include: wipe down picnic tables, sweep pavilion area, clean and restock restroom, clean pavilion sink and pick up trash around pavilion area.

Recreation Area Reservations
Property owners may reserve the pavilion or picnic area for a four hour time frame with a $60 deposit. Details and rules are listed on the reservation form which may be found at the mail station or on the website, www.goldenwoodwestpoa.org, a copy is also included with this mailing. If you are interested in making a reservation, return the completed form to the Administrator with your deposit via the mail station POA box or regular mail. The Administrator will call you to confirm availability.

Gate Code Change in May
In order to keep our pool and tennis court secure for our property owners, the Board is changing the gate combination to the pool and tennis court every month during the summer season beginning in May. The code will change on the 5th of each month, the new code will be printed on the statements of all property owners in good standing (accounts no more than 30 days past due). The current code is printed in this month’s statements. If you would like the pool code emailed to you each month, sign up for e-statements:
Administrator@GoldenwoodWestPOA.org.

Water Board Elections
Water Board elections will be held at the April 26, 2010 Water Board meeting which is scheduled for 7:30 PM at the pavilion. The POA office reminds property owners to either mail ballots to PGMS or bring them to the Water Board meeting. The GWW Water Supply Corporation is a separate entity from the POA and does not share the white POA box at the mail station.

Loose Dogs
Several concerns have been brought to the attention of the POA office regarding loose dogs in the neighborhood, both in Goldenwood West and in Goldenwood. Please check the batteries in your invisible fence dog collars. Neighbors are having issues with roaming dogs knocking over trash cans and scattering trash, loose dogs initiating fights with other dogs, and also encountering aggressive dogs on walks. As a reminder, please know that loose dogs are not only a GWW covenant violation but also a violation of Hays County ordinance. Because of this, the APC is contacting property owners with dogs running at large and also recommending that property owners contact Hays County Animal Control. Please help keep our neighborhood and your pets safe.

Welcome Committee
The Board thanks property owners Mindy Russell and Beth Blanchard for heading up the Welcome Committee and meeting with new property owners to give an introduction to the neighborhood. If you are interested in helping with their efforts, please contact Administrator@GoldenwoodWestPOA.org.

e-Statements
51 Goldenwood West property owners are receiving e-statements this month which is saving the POA money on paper, ink and postage. The POA office and Board of Trustees thanks all who are participating in the e-statement program. To sign up for e-statements, please contact Administrator@GoldenwoodWestPOA.org.

Bulletin Board
If you are interested in posting a flyer on the bulletin board at the mail station, please drop it in the white POA box. Flyers will be rotated as new material is submitted and business cards will be placed at the bottom of the bulletin board to be removed at year-end. Content will be at the discretion of the Administrator.

Upcoming Meetings 04/13/2010 – APC @ 6:30 PM at the pavilion. 04/26/2010 – Water Board @ 7:30 PM at the pavilion. 05/17/2010 – BOT @ 7:15 PM at the pavilion.
